At least we now know it is not just the BBC which has abandoned high quality commentary at the most important OBs in favour of loose tongued, ill researched drivel!

It is indeed difficult  to run informative and entertaining commentaries to slow moving and repetitive events of this kind.
Of course--the people at the Ceremony did not have the commentary at their disposal--but THEY seemed to love it all.

But it shows that only the BBC can do audio!
I turned on the cycling on Ch4 briefly and the pumping caused to teh high audience noise by the commentator's audio was absolutely horrific.
This would have been down to teh Ch4 mix and not the feed providede by the Para folks.

Whether it was the Olympics or the Paralympics--the sound feed quality has been duff throughout . Just about acceptable if the stuff is coming from Bejing or Rio--but why so thoroughly sub standard from Stratford?
