The Sunday Times reports (March 6 2011) that the BBC is planning to scrap most of the daytime output on BBC2 and replace it with a feed of News24.  

This is said to be in response to the cuts in the recent licence fee settlement.

Daytime documentaries, quizzes and drama would all go, the newspaper says.

The proposals will apparently be put to the BBC Trust in the summer.
