Kate Adie takes a step back

Kate Adie, the veteran BBC News reporter who recently described herself as "an old trout", has given up her job as Chief News Correspondent.

She will still be seen and heard on radio and television - but she will no longer broadcast from the front line.

Peter Sissons says it's a pity.
