Mk3 Desk
Mar 8th, 2018, 11:51pm

John Spencer-Barnes reports that he has signed-off the last TX from a Local Radio Mk III Desk at BBC Radio Lancashire.

Via Twitter:-

"The last of the legendary BBC Local Radio Mark III studio desks in the network has broadcast for the final time at @BBCLancashire.
I’ve presented hundreds of shows from this design classic and it’s the end of an era.
It will be dismantled later today" .

More information about the Mk III, here

(Personally I used  Mk1 and  Mk2... Admin).

It's a small world.
I wrote an article on BBC Radio Lancashire (Blackburn) many years ago, for Studio Sound magazine, Chief Engineer Bernie, showed me round.

It was heavily redacted by the BBC before publication.

(I don't have a copy)
