Be aware!  

Today I received an email to my personal email address which purported to come from TV Licensing.  It said I had a refund due and wanted me to click on a link to claim the money.

This is a well known type of scam to get licence payers to download a malware file of some kind.

The worrying thing is that they had my personal email - used only for certain log-ins.  The fear has to be that hackers have access to the TV Licensing database.  I have tried to warn the BBC, as opposed to Capita, but that has not proved easy.

You cannot contact the BBC through the switchboard unless you have an extension number.  

For some strange reason they only want you to email them!
