"1st Cameraman Statue"?
Jun 3rd, 2016, 9:46am

We have received an enquiry from the family of Geoffrey Stuart Nicholls asking for help.

It is quite an unusual question.

Geoff's daughter remembers that Geoff was on Crew 13 and worked for the BBC for over 20 years, working on programmes such as "Blue Peter", "Nationwide", "Dr. Who", "Top Of The Pops" etc.....

Geoff died in 1979.

Whilst at the BBC, they remember that Geoff was given a statue of a BBC TV Camera as an award for "being the first BBC cameraman"?.

Was this perhaps for being 'Cameraman Of the Year'?

Does anyone remember this event? Do you remember the statue? Do you know the whereabouts of one?

Do you remember Geoff? The family would like to hear from you.

If you can help, please email 'Admin', or "reply" below to post a reply.

Any replies will be passed to the family concerned.
