"The Guardian" reports,
here, of the forthcoming plans to 'spin-off' BBC Studios.
According to the article by Tara Conlan:-
"The BBC is giving the green light to one of the biggest shake-ups in its history by hiving off production of its hit shows such as Doctor Who and Mrs Brown’s Boys into a new outfit called BBC Studios.".
"The BBC declined to comment."
However the BBC News web-site has trailed the DG's speech
here, with the headline
"Reduced BBC bad for UK".
"In a message to BBC staff, Lord Hall said his speech would "also set out the first step of our plans for BBC Production" and include proposals "to make BBC Studios a wholly owned subsidiary of the corporation".
"Production is at the heart of the BBC," his message continued. "We have been; we are; and always will be a great programme-maker.""
