Is this station "News and Sport from the BBC"  or is it "Sport and News from the BBC? There is a difference and no wonder listeners are leaving in droves! It's easy-surely Radio 5 should be for News and Radio 5 extra should be sold as the BBC's totally dedicated sport station?
As an occasional listener whilst driving- I would expect a radio version of the BBC TV News on Radio 5 ? but no...if you turn on for the radio 5 news on the hour, inevitably major home or international news stories are quickly gabbled before the sporting headlines and events swamp the rest of the bulletin.
