To be honest this is inevitable....and who on earth cares? With the trash that now appears  as TV entertainment it doesn't matter what digital whatnot it is broadcast on it will not be watched by most people.Future generations will just watch on demand the things they wish to on whatever device is in fashion at the time and the traditional role of sequenced or 'channel' broadcasters will die out. Can't happen soon enough, we hardly watch live TV even now so the expense for new technology will not be worth it.
