Esteemed ex-colleague Jerry Clegg recently appeared in a "Birmingham City University" feature on North Region TV OB unit CMCR 9.
Jerry has been part of a team restoring the BBC TV Scanner to as near as possible its original condition.
Many years of painstaking research have been carried out and, where possible, original parts have been used.
The scanner which spent part of its BBC history in The Midland region, ended up in Manchester as part of the large OB department.
Jerry describes the various departments accommodated in the scanner- Sound, Production and Vision, and demonstrates (among other things) what a Studer A62 ¼" tape machine looks like (for those that remember "tape"!
Jerry fails to describe the notorious line-identification tape located above the Studer.

At the same event, Malcolm Carr demonstrated an EMI 2001 Studio camera.
