The plan to have the last 45 mins or so from London is temporary and purely to save face.
The decision to move the prog back to London has hopefully strategically already been made.
In any case-why not just run normal BBC News output -with regional opt outs on BBC1 in the mornings?
Ridiculous waste of public money to have a whole department responsible for duplicating almost 4 hours a day of News channel output?
In any case--why bother to chase TV ratings at that hour of the morning. Most working people aim to get up and get out of the house as quickly as possible at that hour?
