Aug 1^st, 2012, 12:02pm Now that the BBC has the resources and the money to suddenly magic up 24 additional TV "olympic channels", each operating for over 12 hours a day with existing declining income--how will they make the case for future increases in the licence fee?

... the same TV Licence fee that is subsidising Broadband Internet to rural communities?

Who agreed to this particular non-broadcast related levy on the TV LIcence--fee?

Nothing to do with receiving broadcast TV
(Yet- until they remove all terrestrial transmissions and rely on broadband for all TV distribution so they can sell the spectrum to mobile operators).

Nothing to do with the BBC.

Reply #2 - Aug 2^nd, 2012, 8:40am Apparently if Their Lordships have their way, EVERYTHING will be distributed by net in the future. So things look grim for non computer users who will have their Freeview blacked out by Phone 4!
