New deal for writers.
Jun 18th, 2012, 8:40am

Ariel reports that:-

"Television writers to be paid per view
The number of times programmes are viewed on iPlayer or repeated on the BBC's digital channels will determine how much extra the BBC pays their writers, as part of a new agreement that takes effect next month...

Reward for repeats
The deal will also see writers earning a percentage of their original fee when their work is repeated on BBC Three, Four, CBBC or CBeebies - rather than a standard payment. Currently, writers receive a 15% additional fee for the rights to include their programmes on iPlayer and to repeat them on the digital channels over a five year period....

Cheaper repeats
The agreement will also see lower payments for repeats on the BBC's main channels."
