Calling all 1950's BBC Television News Personnel!
May 31st, 2010, 2:12pm

Kudos Productions are currently undertaking research into a drama being developed for the BBC about the birth of television news.  The entire 6 episodes are set in latter part of 1956, possibly spilling over into early 1957.

Were you working for Television News Department during the 1950s?  If so, do you have reminiscences, photographs, documents, even film, that you would be willing to share with the Alexandra Palace Television Society, who are assisting in the research?  If so, please contact me at apts@apts.org.uk.

Kudos want the drama to be historically accurate and as a result want to consult with BBC personnel who were actually working at Alexandra Palace for TV News, rather than relying on possibly inaccurate accounts perpetuated in various parts of the media.

It doesn't matter if you were working for TV News before or after the period of the drama, as the writer wants to have a thorough understanding of how television news developed, in order to be able to write from a historically accurate viewpont.

Kudos Productions have a long-standing and impressive list of productions for the BBC; Spooks, Hustle, Ashes To Ashes, and Life On Mars to name but a few!

Your help is much appreciated by APTS and Kudos Productions.
