Wartime Emergency newsroom

A writer to this forum poses this question:

Do you happen to know where the BBC's Emergency News Headquarters were during the war? I've been asked by a writer I'm in occasional contact with.

There was a puzzling reference in an issue of ENG INF some years back. It said that an armoured car was always available at BH to take the duty news reader to 'standby studios' at MV. But I wouldn't have thought that MV would be any more secure than BH. For the same reason, 200 Oxford St would seem to be an unlikely location.

I wonder if you may be in contact with anyone from the war years, or would otherwise be able to solve the problem!
