Robert McLeish - doyen of Local Radio Training
May 18th, 2022, 7:04pm

Reported on the Radio London page over on Facebook the sad news that Robert McLeish, who trained many of us in local radio, died of cancer last month.

This note from Michael Barton:
‘Robert was one of the giants of Local radio - first at Radio Nottingham followed by his huge contribution to the training of countless staff who are all indebted to him for setting the standard  - punctuality included - at the beginning of their broadcasting careers. His technical grasp of a succession of self-op desks led to the publication of his much admired training manuals -updated and reprinted long after Robert retired.’
