Gul Lilarum

Gul Lilarum, who worked as an accountant for BBC World Service in the 70's and 80's died on the 7th November 2019 in St Mary’s Hospital Paddington. I worked with Gul from1977 in the Programme Executive/Accounting Services department of what was then BBC External Services and kept in touch with him ever since. Gul was one of the nicest men you could have known and he played a very active role in the BBC Club Aerial Wine and Beer society, as treasurer, until his kidney problems meant he had to give up wine and beer, something that he always enjoyed, always in moderation of course. Another passion of his was watching cricket and many a day was spent at Oval test matches over the years cheering England on, with mixed results. I'm sure all that knew him will mourn his passing and will raise a glass of something in his memory.
