Owen Bennett-Jones, gives his opinion of 'The BBC', and the management thereof...  here, in "London Review Of Books" (Dated 20th December 2019)

"Can’t Afford to Tell the Truth"
Owen Bennett-Jones on the state of the BBC

He makes quite a few points from his experience.

He expresses his opinion regarding 'breaking news', inter-BBC news programme competition, reluctance to actually break stories... lack of money...

Owen won the Sony Radio Gold Award in the News Journalist of the year 2008.

IN 2009 he was Commonwealth Journalist of the year.

He has worked on many World Service programmes including "Newshour".

Wow! Truly glad to be out now. How can the BBC reverse all this?

Update:-

Jamie Angus (Director, BBC World Service),
refutes the points made by Owen (contained in the same link) here.

JA's Letter is then followed by another comment by Owen.

Thanks to Bill Rogers (Trading as wdr) here.
