I had not realised that TONY HALL had announced that the Beeb was giving up Maida Vale - another nail in the coffin! Why? The site was originally leased from the CofE, & was an iconic studio centre - ST1 BBCSO, St2. Chamber recordings, St3 The Radio Orch etc., etc.
Why no rhyme or reason?

Apparently it suffers the same problem that TVC had, it's riddled with asbestos, making it prohibitively expensive to do any kind of refurbishment work.
