Alan Ward
Aug 1st, 2017, 4:12pm

Very sad to announce the death of Alan Ward on 12th July 2017, much respected Senior member of Birmingham's Audio department, specialising in serious music. His reputation for music balancing skills followed him even after retirement in 1990, when he began compiling an archive of recordings of City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra stretching back to the 1930s, and will be remembered for a legacy of the Alan Ward Award granted for the highest number of microphones used in its day.

His memory lingers on in the minds of all those whose lives were touched by his kindness and expertise.

The funeral will take place at 1.45pm on Monday, 7th August, at St Andrew’s Church, Stock Lane, Landford, Wiltshire SP5 2EW.  Please forward any cards to:
Portree
Lyndhurst Road
Landford
Wiltshire
SP5 2AS
and should you wish to commemorate him, please make any donations via A.H.Cheater Ltd.,122 The Hundred, Romsey, Hampshire, SO51 8BY all of which will support the Down’s Syndrome Association
