AP Television Society Reunion - 7th June 2016
Apr 20th, 2016, 5:03pm

The Alexandra Palace Television Society will be celebrating the 80th anniversary of the official opening (and the 70th anniversary of the post-war reopening of BBC Television Service) on Tuesday 7th June 2016, in the Londesborough Room at Alexandra Palace.

Arrangements are as follows:

11.00  -  arrive
11.30  -  coffee
1.00    -  lunch
4.30    -  depart

Additional drinks & coffee are available to purchase from the bar in the Fountain Servery.

Our get together on June 7th 2016 marks the 70th anniversary (to the day) of the reopening of the BBC Television Service after its wartime closedown.

There will be the opportunity to get a progress update on the extensive works in the studio wing, and more information on what the public can expect when it opens.

Last year we were slightly short of our minimum numbers, but those attending all enjoyed chatting about old times; meeting former colleagues, ate a very hearty buffet lunch - all topped off by fantastic weather!

Replies by Friday 6th May would be greatly appreciated.  We have been able to keep the cost the same as in previous years – at £33 each.

Letters have been sent out to all regular APTS members.  However, if you have not received a letter please let me know and I will put one in the post or send via email.

Attendances at the reunions have been declining over the past few years, to the point where their continuation is in question.  Therefore if you know any former colleagues who are unaware of the existence of the reunion and/or the society could you please spread the word!

This is potentially the last reunion in its present form prior to the opening of the studio tours, scheduled for Autumn 2017.

The Londesborough Room is via the main Palm Court entrance and there is parking available.

We very much hope to see you at Alexandra Palace on Tuesday 7th June and help celebrate this special anniversary at the home of BBC Television!
