Iain or "Jimmy" as he was known was a former Head of WS Sport. Iain joined th BBC From Fleet Street , originally as Managing Editor of Radio Sport before moving to the World Service. A proud Scotsman he had a sharp editorial brain and nurtured many young journalists , though when they erred his immediate reaction was the infamous "dearie, dearie".
Iain died in August and his funeral was well attended by his former colleagues.
