The BBC news site reports that journalist Sue Lloyd-Roberts, who had been suffering from leukaemia, has died.

Just sone of the tributes to Sue:-

"Inspiring, intrepid", "one of the most distinguished television reporters of her generation", "a remarkable reporter", "a huge loss to journalism", "a very brave journalist who cared passionately about human rights","one of the greatest TV reporters of our time. Courageous, fearless fighter for human rights","greatest and bravest reporter of her generation", " a great colleague".

Here is a report Sue made in 2010 "BBC Our World- Inside North Korea".

Here is a report Sue made for "Newsnight" in December 2014 about "Qatar 2022 Construction".

Sue was awarded the CBE in the 2013 Birthday Honours List for services to Journalism.

From The BBC Media Centre:-
BBC Newsnight and BBC World News America triumphed at the 32nd Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards with a unique insight into North Korea by BBC correspondent Sue Lloyd-Roberts. The Emmys were presented by the National Academy of Television arts and sciences in New York  on Monday 26 September 2011.

Sue started her broadcasting career at ITN.

Sue had been writing a 'blog', telling the story of her treatment.
The last entry was written on the 21st August, it was entitled "Apologies."

Tony Jolliffe worked with Sue on many foreign assignments.

Here is the BBC News page with his fond memories of working with her.

"Dance on Sue. I'm going to miss you".

"Just Giving" appeal.

George and Sarah Morris, Sue's son and daughter, have set up a 'Just Giving' web-page hoping to raise £200,000 to start a scholarship in memory of Sue.

The scholarship is intended to help talented women enter journalism.

There are only a few days left to help this cause.

More information is here.
