Tom Read
Sep 25th, 2015, 9:43am

Tom Read, who in a long BBC career worked at BH, Bush and Caversham, has died.  He'd been suffering from Parkinsons.

He worked on Radio Current Affairs at Broadcasting House before transferring to Bush where he eventually became Head of Central Talks and Features.  His final BBC job was as Director of Monitoring.

Tom's father was the art critic Sir Herbert Read and a brother is the author, Piers Paul Read.

Tom’s funeral will be at:

11am on Wednesday 7th October at

St. Etheldreda’s Church, 14 Ely Place, London EC1N 6RY

There will be refreshments in the crypt afterwards.

No flowers please but if you would like to make a donation to Marie Curie in memory of Tom, you can do so by  telephone to Leverton & Sons 020 7387 6075.  Alternatively, by a cheque made out to ‘Marie Curie’ with Tom’s name on the back and sent to Leverton & Sons Ltd at 212 Eversholt Street, London, NW1 1BD
