BH extension "Hot desking"
Jun 17th, 2014, 11:42am

Here we go again courtesy of Ariel - "Feeling the heat in hunt for a hot desk seat"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/ariel/27883987

Are we surprised? I love the bit about "kimwipes" being provided at every desk. But they don't have waste bins to put them in when used do they?

I recall that when Hot Desks were first introduced in the Media Centre White City-1991/2-they were hardly used at all other than first thing in the morning or around 17.00!
This was because managers in adjacent BBC buildings-or even BH  thought that staff -off site and visiting White City for whatever reason might have been skiving!

Interesting quote from the Ariel article:

"Andy Baker, the W1 manager, claims the problems of space are partly the result of the building simply being a 'fantastic place to work'.

'It has Oxford Street just down the road, it's in central London, so it means the commuting is relatively easy. And I think we are a victim of our own success.'

So why did we all traipse out to White City?
