"News Channel" on-line only?
Apr 28th, 2014, 5:05pm

According to "The Independent"..

"Fears are growing among BBC journalists that the 24-hour BBC News Channel could follow the youth-orientated BBC3 in becoming an online-only service."

The story may be found here.

Fine-the BBC News on line app is brilliant. You can access News info on PC or mobile device by genre and if you are a real junkie-watch the bulletins on screen or just wait for the lunchtime/early evening/late evening bulletins. The only danger for the BBC is that traditionalists will grieve the loss of the all day TV News service -and maybe switch (forever!) to Sky News.

They would be unlikely to switch to the 24 hour Radio 5 either since that has moved  from being "News and Sport from the BBC" to "Sport and News from the BBC". Pity-but that is a separate issue
