Mike was a BBC television announcer from 1974-82.  Thereafter he was an announcer on BBC World Service Radio before working in BBC TV Presentation until his retirement in 2002.  He died at Watford General Hospital on 23 July 2012 having being diagnosed with lung cancer in May that year.
