David March, who worked for the World Service, was walking in Snowdonia when he plunged 130 feet onto rocks. He suffered head, chest and leg injuries and died immediately.

A verdict of accidental death was recorded.

"The studio manager, who was single, was also chairman of Croydon University Hospital station Radio Mayday and volunteered at Whitechapel AM at the Royal London Hospital."
