Christmas at TVC

1. EXT - EAST TOWER – DAY.
DESOLATE AND DESERTED APART FROM THE PIGEONS AND RATS SCURRYING AMONG THE DEBRIS
A VERY MODERN ILLUMINATED TOWER CRANE LOOMS OMINOUSLY OVERHEAD.
Doctor! To the Tardis!
No not that pile of grotty old fibreglass
laid-off on the setting floor. Inside; with
all the bells and whistles, and …. the console!
2. INT - TARDIS – DAY.
THEY STUMBLE IN AND IMMEDIATELY FIRE-UP THE CONSOLE.
Spatial co-ordinates; Planet Earth …
Geographical co-ordinates; Continent of Europe ..
Land mass; United Kingdom …
Relative dimensions; London W12 7RJ….
Time; Right this second.
Temporal date; Exactly twenty six years ago … yesterday!
THE CONSOLE CRANKS UP. THE TARDIS SHUDDERS.
3. EXT - SOMEWHERE BETWEEN TC8 AND THE RESTAURANT BLOCK - DAY.
THE TARDIS LANDS. THEY EMERGE CAUTIOUSLY, TAKING IT ALL IN.
Aha! Of course ....
T’was Christmas day on the ring road
The trailers all covered in snow
Two clapped out old wagons from Luckings
With nowhere else they could go
There wasn’t a hint of old Santa
He couldn’t get through on his sled
All the rats and the pigeons were sleeping
The rostra and flattage all dead
Not a trace of a mince pie or turkey
For all the assemblies were locked
And there wasn’t much whisky a’ flowing
‘Cos as usual the drains were all blocked
In the distance the church bells were ringing
But the runway was silent and cold
There were no carol singers or crackers
Just old Playschool props in the mould
Then came there a stirring and rustling
Ghostly figures slid out from the gloom
Three night men, two prod’ ops, one store-man
And a TV hand, minus his broom
Lo! The whole of the workforce assembled
For each man had crept from his bed
To offer a fun Christmas greeting
From their sad sorry worn out old head
Then the S.F.O’s voice rang out clear
Full clear round those grey concrete walls
So what have you got me for Christmas chaps?
A bloody great kick in the balls!
XX MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AND A SUPER NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL XX

The seven verse rhyme Mike was from a 1987 copy of 'Behind The Scenes - Scenic Operations Newsletter' I found in my attic. I think I know who wrote it and he wouldn't have minded me revising and re-posting it. All the East Tower Dr Who stuff is completely original.
