Sep 1st, 2013, 2:23pm

We have received the sad news that Elwyn Parry Jones died on Friday 30th August 2013.
He died in North Wales following a long illness.

Elwyn was born in Llangollen in 1939.

Elwyn had a long career as a journalist and television producer. He worked for the BBC from the early 60's through to the late 80's. He was deputy editor of Panorama and was producer and reporter on 'who is afraid of Rupert Murdoch'. He also worked on the first series of Rough Justice.

On leaving the BBC he returned to North Wales to set up his own production company. He wanted to specialise in welsh language current affairs programmes. Unfortunately his health declined and he suffered a stroke in 1997, he suffered a further stroke in 2001 which left him permanently disabled.

The funeral will be in Pystyll church in North Wales on Friday 6th September.

He leaves his wife Hana and four daughters, Elinor, Lorna, Sarinka and Marta.
