"Eng Inf"

A veritable treasure-trove of "Eng Inf's" may be found here:-

For instance,

Number 1- Summer 1980, describes the initial tests of direct to home satellite TV broadcasts.
Number 20- Spring 1985, describes the first broadcast of a debate from the House Of Lords.

(Thanks to tech-ops forum for the link, it's a simple list, so happy reading!)

Many thanks for this. Happy reading indeed plus a few lumps in the back of the throat at old memories. BBC Engineering was indeed great.

Just another angle on Eng Inf...at one time there was a department of Engineering called 'Engineering Information Department' who would answer all manner of queries from the public on not just reception of broadcasts but enquiries from schoolboys like me in the 50s on all manner of topics to do with the technical side of broadcasting. These people played a large part in my eventually deciding to join the BBC as an Engineer and if there are any members of that group still around my grateful thanks!
