Alison Ford
Jul 3rd, 2013, 2:43pm

"Ariel" has a tribute to Alison Ford, editor of "BBC Breakfast" who died recently.

Alison joined the BBC as a trainee reporter in 1991 after studying English Literature at Liverpool University.

She then moved to Carlton TV, where she was producer at Central News.
After rejoining the BBC as editor of Midlands Today, she was eventually promoted to head of BBC East Midlands.

She later became head of journalism for Nations and Regions and was also appointed as UK news editor at BBC Newsgathering.

In 2008, she joined BBC Breakfast as editor.

This is from "The Guardian":-

"BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin said the death of Ford was "very sad news" and said: "We are all devastated. Alison was the most fabulous and inspirational editor. She inspired fierce loyalty in everyone who worked with her, and all of us will miss her terribly. She was the best boss I have ever had, and I will miss her as a funny, generous and supportive friend."

BBC Breakfast contributor and money-saving expert Paul Lewis tweeted: "I will miss her."

Breakfast included a tribute at the end of the programme on Thursday, with a picture of Ford and a few words from the presenters.
