HAZEL FARRINGTON
Apr 24th, 2012, 9:07am

Hazel Farrington who has died after a long illness was one of the army of part time staff who, especially in the 1970s and 1980s, kept Local Radio going. not only answering the listener phone lines but translating what they had to say into easy to read notes for presenters like me at Radio Birmingham/WM ( no computer links then!), looking after studio guests and setting them at their ease, but also coping with the challenge of rushing impossible to find discs into the studio and filling in the onerous PasB forms for all the music played. A terrific amount of the work is now automated or just not required but for a few frantic  formative years we could not have done it without you Hazel. Our thanks.
