Hal Bethell
Aug 5th, 2011, 5:47pm

It is with deep regret that I am informing the forum of the passing of my father, Hal Bethell, aged 82, on 5th August 2011. He suffered a third stroke in 10 months.

My father was manager of BBC Radio Leicester from, I believe, 1967-70 and of BBC Radio Cleveland and BBC Radio Cambridge in the late 70s through to the mid 80s.

He was also involved in BBC radio schools education in the mid 1960s.

Hopefully some old colleagues will see this.

Dear Sir,

Each year at the Radio Festival we run a short video to remember colleagues who have passed away since the last festival. We would dearly like to include Hal Blethall in the tribute this year.

To do this we would need to track down some photos & if possible audio and or video.

If you know who I could contact that may be able to provide some of this information it would be much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance for your time.
Kind regards,
Caroline Evans
