The following is from the Sheffield Star on-line,    THE funeral takes place on Tuesday of Sheffield writer and radio producer Dave Sheasby who has died of cancer aged 69.
Born in Fulwood and educated at King Edward VII School, he worked as a teacher before being appointed Education Producer when BBC Radio Sheffield began in 1967.

He is remembered for a pioneering programme which featured helped launch the careers of writers such as Berlie Doherty, Rony Robinson, Paul Allen and Theresa Tomlinson.

Dave went on to become a staff producer for Radio Four and wrote more than 40 plays for Radio Three and Radio Four.

He is survived by his wife Eve and their three grown-up children along with three children from his first marriage to Helen who died from a brain tumour.

The funeral is at Hutcliffe Wood on Tuesday at 3pm.
