I took these photographs after passing the old place a few months after migration to Pacific Quay.
I felt the same when they bulldozed Lime Grove.

Amigo!
That remark reminds me of an episode of only fools and horses when the 'Trotters' mounted a dish on their veranda.
Turned out to be a 'hookey' dish purloined from Heathrow airport.
The final scene was of a jumbo jet homing in on Nelson Mandela House!!

This link has just turned up on uk.tech broadcast
Looking at the pictures I don't remember any as the last time I was there was for the GW Marahon in the 80s and the Pope's visit to Bellahouston.
Also I remember the club across the road and the B&B run by Mrs Cameron (?) next door
The building should have been listed - it was just so loverly

That's correct re-the B&B it is now an hotel.
The BBC Club closed a few years back due to falling numbers.
There was a huge send off with the place packed to the rafters.
Just before the doors closed for the very last time at Queen Margaret Drive someone did mark its passing albeit in a small way!
If you are interested here are the links.

club was at 1 Botanic Cresc, Mrs Cameron's was a few doors up at no 6 and slowly got split up into flats starting from the top floor down. Mr Cameron doing a lot of the work as I recall. Mrs Cameron taking in fewer B&B guests as the years went by and renting the upper flats out.

Is Mrs Cameron's now the hotel mate or am I mistaken.
I never actually stayed there.

Hi, I have a set of photos of BH GW-Queen Margaret Drive on my Flickr website. They show the radio operations of the building and the demolition. I hope you may enjoy taking a look.
