Stephen George - Dresser for the BBC dies aged 61
Jan 26th, 2010, 10:47am

On the 24th January Stephen George sadly passed away. He died aged 61 after being unwell for a couple of years.
He and his partner, Richard Wells, lived across the road from me as a child and after Richard passed away in 1993 we adopted Stephen into our family. My mother looked after Stephen through his final years and attempted to get in touch with anyone he knew but failed, so unfortunately it now falls to me to invite anyone who knew Stephen to attend his funeral.
As far as we know, after a career in theatre he worked on BBC shows Bergerac, Wogan, As Time Goes By, Grange Hill, Chuckle Brothers and numerous Red Nose Day broadcasts.
His funeral is to be held at 1:15pm on Friday 5th February at Breakespeare Crematorium in Ruislip, anyone who knew Stephen is invited to attend.
I also welcome any replies that may give us any more insight into his time at the BBC.
