Hi there - I am editing my parents' letters from 1945.They were actors, Joy Shelton and Sydney Tafler, who worked a lot for the BBC. I have come across the following passage: "Peter Eton was telling me the other day that the BBC are doing their best to make Sidney Atwood stay – and they are ignoring offers to fill the post. Pat Newman applied for it, but as yet, they have not had the courtesy to answer."
I know who Peter Eton was - I am thinking Pat Newman might be Patrick Newman who was a variety agent who joined the BBC in 1946 as a talent booker. But who was Sidney Atwood?
