Phil Jones, a Radio News reporter for many years, has died. He had been suffering from dementia and died of complications of Covid-19 in a nursing home in Norfolk. A fine journalist of the old school, he went to university after retiring from the BBC and became a distinguished historian and published author. He once said: “Education is wasted on the young”.
