Randon Radio Jottings, here, have pulled together a feature - "BBC Local Radio Fifty Years", which includes some archive video clips of early BBC Local Radio.

A special programme "Friendly Radio" was made to celebrate the event, and was broadcast on BBC Radio Leicester, and many other BBC outlets, on Sunday 5th.
