Just watched this on Iplayer. Brilliant production. Controversial but superbly acted. So why BBC 2 on a midweek rather than BBC 1 on Sunday? Did someone lose their nerve?

I suspect you may be right, although it has been running as a successful theatre production for some time, so maybe someone thought it wasn't "new" enough. I thought it was a seriously fine piece of TV.
