Title: "Audibility- The Struggle to be heard"
Post by Administrator on Apr 20th, 2017, 3:17pm

This "Broadcast" article by Kevin Hilton, asks '....where, in the production and post workflow, do the problems occur?'.

He refers to many BBC dramas over the last few years, and has tallked to several specialists in the production processes.

That's interesting, and adds to my growing suspicion- confirmed from reading interviews with various TV directors - that the root of the problem is the actor. They adopt a method for portraying the character which may not square with the director's vision, and all too often, the actor wins - particularly if they are big box office and can get their own way. Directors should be able to direct - I wonder what Hitchcock would say?

Once again an interesting article-but once again it fails to mention that this issue is mostly confined to BBC drama.
