Title: Desmond Carrington
Post by DavidJames on Feb 7th, 2017, 8:29pm

Most forum readers will already be aware of the death of Desmond Carrington at the age of 90.
From 'Emergency Ward 10' in 1958 to his final radio programme from Perthshire last year is an extraordinary career. I liked Desmond - he was always totally charming even when he didn't agree with you, and the music and the listeners were all that really mattered.
My condolences to David who has produced all the programmes since the programme went "independent" a score or so years ago.
I'll miss that totally eclectic choice of music - where Ella Fitzgerald could segue into The Eagles, and Ambrose followed by The Beatles followed by Katie Melua would sound totally seamless, and perfectly matched.
Nice bloke !
