Title: Andre Rieu's violin sounded like a clarinet! Post by Roundabout on Nov 13th, 2016, 10:47pm The Beeb's inability to cope with complex sound balances goes on...in this evening's Strictly Come Dancing Results show they featured Andre Rieu's Orchestra and there was no sound of his violin even in the close ups! It actually sounded like the clarinet which was featured in the opening bars! Hey, must be my TV......and my tablet.....and my HDD recorder...and the BBC Catch up as well! |
Title: Re: Andre Rieu's violin sounded like a clarinet! Post by JohnW on Nov 14th, 2016, 4:12pm I doubt Mr Rieu would have been very happy had he 'tuned in' to watch/listen to that performance on Sunday evening. I couldn't hear his playing at all. This is most unusual as the 'Strictly' sound team are normally very good at getting a decent balance from the Dave Arch band!! Still, I guess it goes to show that they weren't miming!! |
Title: Re: Andre Rieu's violin sounded like a clarinet! Post by Dickie Mint on Nov 14th, 2016, 5:39pm Interestingly if you search on youtube, a concert version of it does not feature the sound of Andre's violin! Even in close up. And no mike, radio or otherwise, is seen anywhere near him! |
