Title: Iplayer Radio app-getting dysfunctional
Post by EyeTunes on Jul 19th, 2014, 11:06am

This app is getting a bit dysfunctional. What I and indeed every individual using it needs is a fast track to the Station, then the  schedule as broadcast on the day-then press play. Easypeazy--you would have thought...BUT
On demand displays all the BBC radio stations currently broadcasting--but only a very small strapline a third of the way down the page with the date and the time of the programme as first broadcast. Pressing that -when you eventually find it--often just takes you back to the programme currently being transmitted on the station....and so on and so on..
I am NOT interested in a favourites section( which doesn't work anyway) or the special Features and I am not happy with a general search box which says NO TRACE  when I type in Bob Harris or Johnny Walker!.....neither am I interested in Podcasts( who is?)
More work needed m'thinks

A handy web-site is:-

http://downdetector.co.uk/problems/iplayer

and generally:-

http://downdetector.co.uk/

for when problems seem apparent, generally.

Those with 'Twitter' as a source of information might care to go to:-

@AboutTheBBC

where these situations are sometimes updated.

Latest says:-
"Bugs in the system mean there's a small problem with some parts of @BBC Online and @BBCiPlayer. We'll let you know as soon as it's fixed."

@BBCiPlayer 'tweets'

"Still working on the issue causing people not to have access to @BBC online.... we'll update again once fixed".

@AboutThe BBC via Twitter reports:-

We're hoping to get @BBCiPlayer, @BBCiPlayerRadio & @bbccouk up and running for all of you soon. We apologise for the inconvenience.

They had a working system but tried to fix something which was not broken and broke it in the process. The present system even when working is awful.
