Title: On-line Auction
Post by Amigo on Jul 21st, 2013, 10:20am

Ariel advertises the forthcoming on-line auction for TVC memorabilia.

"The BBC is looking to turn tender feelings about Television Centre into legal tender next week when some of the building's contents go under the hammer.

Anything from desks and dummies to Daleks and denim jackets, which once graced the offices and studios of TVC and White City, will be up for grabs in the three-day online auction, which starts on Wednesday.

There are around 800 furniture lots which will be sold in large and small quantities to suit businesses and individuals alike. BBC staff will have the chance to bid for the sofa where they dreamt up that ratings hit, the dividers that marked out old fiefdoms and the desk that they used to call their own.

For those after a more manageable memento - and rumour has it that plenty of revellers at the farewell to TVC staff party were - there's stacks of memorabilia on sale."

There is a link to register interest, however this is only on the "explore.gateway.bbc.co.uk ..

so as usual,

it's not available to retired staff. [smiley=angry.gif] [smiley=angry.gif]

Even staff who worked at TVC all their lives are excluded.....
