I'm writing a newspaper feature about producer and former Head of LE Michael Mills (commissioned 'Some Mothers', 'Dads Army' etc). Particularly interested in his love of boating - for some years he had a boat moored at Gillingham in Kent (don't know name of boat!) which he and wife (glamorous film actress Valerie Leon) used for leisure with their 2 (?) children.

Anyone have any recollections about his boating?

Pre-BBC Michael was apparently in the French Navy during the war - despite being British. Anyone know why ot how this came about?
