It is with huge regret and sadness that I have to announce that my mother, the costume designer Carol Lawrence passed away on the 28th of November.
After a successful career as a stage designer Carol started working at the BBC in the early 80’s. Her very first job was Playschool, and she did her time on all the Strands, and was an assistant on many shows such as Alas Smith & Jones. She went on to design for Blue Peter, EastEnders, The Brittas Empire, Allo Allo, The Slammer and many other shows before becoming the designer on every flagship Saturday morning show from Going Live, Live and Kicking, Dick and Dom through to TMI.
Carol worked with so many people over the years and it is heartbreaking to bring such horrible news. My brothers and I are devastated at her loss.
