Richard started in BBC Local Radio and left (about 30 years later) having been head of BBC Sport, director of News and finally head of World Service. In this hour-long audio interview by Paul Blanchard for "Media Masters", Richard talks about the Hutton Enquiry, Journalists's safety, the opening of BBC Radio Fivelive, and his present post at Cardiff University.
