The Institute Of Professional Sound has let us know that "John Andrews Bsc, member 570, former Chairman and current Vice President of the IPS" died on the 22nd November."

The IPS say:-
"Beginning his career in radio at the BBC as a sound mixer John went on to become Operations Manager in charge of Radio 1 & 2 studio staff.

On leaving the Corporation in the 1970’s he changed direction and went into marketing for large format console producers, bringing to this field the rare combination of technical knowledge and managerial experience."

John was involved with various manufactureers after he left- Alice, Neve finally Solid State Logic.

The information from the IPS ended by saying that there will be "no funeral, but a private cremation"
